i bought a strong card(280x) though in games it doesnt allows it to pass 60fps (i have 60hz screen) so i was wondering if there is a way to show fps and let it show beyond 60fps to let me know the real performance?

Turn off Vsync and it can run faster than the monitor refresh rate!

Ehh, I thought I had seen somewhere that you can basically OC your monitor to enable a higher refresh rate, wouldn't recommend it though.

As others have said, go into your settings for the game and turn off V-Sync. Obviously, you won't be able to see past 60 fps on a 60 Hz monitor, but V-Sync basically tells your graphics card to output frames so that they're in sync with the refresh rate of your monitor. So in other words, assuming your graphics card is physically capable of getting past 60 fps in a game, your graphics card is only going to output a frame at the same time that your monitor refreshes the image (which is only 60 times every second). This prevents screen tearing, and also ensures that your GPU doesn't do more work than it has to (which would generate unnecessary heat) so ideally in most games I prefer to have V-Sync on, even if it does cause screen tearing, though this also depends on the game.
