Hello , I bought 2 months ago a new MSI GTX 660 2GB GDDR5 , I wanted to make my games faster and I wanted to play on much better graphics , unfortunately my games are still very laggy , they are a bit better and I can play on better graphics but some of them are ultra laggy , like Tomb Raider , now I can play it on ultimate graphics , with TressFX hair , but in the shanty town ( biggest map ) it works with 7-9 fps.In GTA4 it's MUCH WORSE, I don't want to talk about it. I want to know why , I thought this is much better card , and on youtube I saw videos with playing TR with the same card but much smoother , I uploaded an image of the usage of the GPU and CPU while playing TR in the shanty town. My CPU is AMD Athlon II X2 250 3,0 GHz ( 2 Cores )

You have a very low end dual core CPU. Upgrade it to something more modern.

you GPU is heavily bottlenecked by your CPU. you need a decent quad core to unleash the full potetial of your GPU. GPU does all of the gfx related work but it also needs a decent CPU to help it.

Is the AMD FX 6300 ( 6 Cores ) 3,5 GHz a good choice ?

Hi,

You cpu is bottle necking your gpu, you need to change mobo / memory (if not ddr3) and mobo if you want to play modern games (2012-2013 games)

GTA 4 is badly coded for pc, the best you can get for graphics is medium but you will still get some lag.

You can see your cpu always at 100% on your pic.

@And7rey yep, FX 6300 is currently one of the best budget CPU's.
