ok I upgraded my video card to a gigabyte r9 270x but my power supply was not able to run it.
It need 500w min mine was 450w max so my friend that say he knows about computers is like get a cheap power supply and hooked them both up to power the card. I thought it was a bad idea but he said it would be fine he has done it before. so I listen to this dude and once he kicks on the other supply - pop and I see a poof of smoke :pfff: . now I have a 600w evga supply and I hooked everything up and no video signal. I know the card works my friend ran it in his pc for a few days.
the mobo turns on hdd is spinning. the fans on the video card wont kick on in my pc. so I put the old cheap card back in and it turns on and everything but no signal. something is messed up but I don't know what it could be the mobo CPU HDD Ram don't want to buy useless stuff. how can I check what is causing this problem. This was my first build and its been a nightmare. All I want to do is play battlefield 4 :fou:

mobo msi 970A-G46
CPU amd fx 6300
ram 8gb gskill ripjawsx
video Gigabyte r9 270x 2gb ddr5
powersupply 600w evga 80 plus bronze

Try testing the motherboard at a local shop, if not too expensive. Or, if still under warranty, try RMA-ing it. Hopefully, the CPU is OK.

I think the cpu is fried all the fans kick on except for the fans on the video card. when i shut it down i see the fans kinda twitch and im not getting any beep errors. i took the battery out to clear cmos and still nothing.
