I have oc'd my 4770k to 4.4ghz @ 1.30 (adaptive). the system post, boots and i have played bf4,didnt run any stress test bcoz jj from asus doesnt recommend doing that. Is this a good setting?

That clock speed is pretty high so you should run some CPU stress tests like linx. However, set the voltage to manual as the test may override the voltage. I also recommend monitoring the CPU temp with something like CPUZ. There is no problem with the cooling though.

I always run stress tests to make sure the CPU can handle everything perfectly. Stress tests don't do any harm to your CPU or software, it just tests the CPU's reliability. I recommend Prime95. Also, what cooler are you using? Also, what are your temps.

Thanks for reply.Im using a H320 from swiftech.Idle temps are between 32-35. I tried exporting a mpeg2 Blu ray movie (45 mins) in adobe premiere, it took ten minutes and the cpu utilization was close to 100%. in ai suite III temps didnt go above 70, but in real temp it was 80 at the same time. which one do you think is the most accurate?

Also, In a video JJ from asus gives tutorial on how to manually overclock haswell, he says if you are using adaptive voltage, it is not recommended to stress test the cpu with synthetic benchmarks like prime. do u think i should go manual with same settings and try to stress test it and make sure its stable and then change to adaptive?

you need to stress test to check temps at the very least. I've seen 12 hour prime small fft stable overclocks fail in seconds on intel burn test maximum setting… also the other way around. but i run ibt max first to check temps and voltage min/max to make sure everything is where they should be.

I tried exporting a 2 hour movie into bluray mpeg2 , and it crashed half way, temps where 80-90 C. I will also try this ibt max, thanks.

i have deleted AI Suite III , underclocked Ram to 1333mhz and changed my fans in swiftech h320 to noctua nf-f12, now i m stable at 4.3 ghz at 1.26 volts. Temps avg are 76 C.

Thank you all for advices :)
