I purchased this power supply http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151109

and now I am installing 4 sapphire 7950 graphics cards. The problem is that I don't have enough pci/e connections on the power supply for 4 gpus because I am using 1 for the cpu. The graphics cards came with 2 cables that seem to fit with the peripheral 4 pin cables on the PS.

Main question: Can I hook up 3 graphics cards plugged into the pci/e on the PS and 1 graphics card into the peripheral slot on the PS? They are both run off 12V.

Second question: I bought some power riser cables. Can I plug these into the peripheral slot on the PS? Are these even necessary since the cards are connected to the PS already?

Thanks!

Read you PSU manual !
You have 3 x PCI-E 1 x PCI-E / CPU and 1 x CPU ( 8 pin port ) - you must use this one for the CPU not PCI-E/CPU

Unless your motherboard requires two 8-pin CPU power connectors there are four modular 12-pin PCI-E connectors on the PSU's modular interface panel that should handle the four graphics cards just fine.

If your motherboard only has one 8-pin CPU power connector then you should be using the 8-pin CPU modular connector on the PSU's modular interface panel.

So I just went through all of my cables and I think I am short 1 8 pin cpu cable. Can someone just please tell me if it is possible to use the peripheral on the PSU interface panel for my final GPU? I have contacted the person I bought this PSU from on ebay so they might send me the missing part but if not then I have to figure something else out.

You can try contacting Seasonic and ask for one.

Any other ideas? Basically I only have one of the cables at 5:28 here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qi5wEkc7B90 the 12 pin to 8 pin one. I was thinking of just cutting off 4 of the unpopulated pins on the 12 pin side.
