best cpu cooler for my fx 8320

dear guys,

my fx 8320 gets upto 80 deg in nearly 10mins of playing NFS Rivals, amd abve that it shutsoff the whole computer.

i have cooler master K380 cabinet with one 120mm cabinet cooling fan.

WHat i need to do to play for longer hours? pls help

It really shouldn't be getting that hot with a stock cooler...
Is it mounted correctly with a proper application of thermal paste?

I recommend getting an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Rev 2 heat sink fan. It's nice and quiet and should reduce the temperature by a significant amount.

If you have a a higher budget then you may want to consider water cooling. The Corsair H55 is a great water cooler and not too expensive.

Other things to consider maybe to get some better thermal paste or buying a few more case fans. Also, adjusting your Bios settings may help.

Yes it is installed properly, i play other games such as crysis 3, blacklist and sniper ghost warrior 2 without any problem. but still the temp is around 70 deg.

I am using Corsair VS550 Watt PSU with Asrock 970 extreme 4, As per my budjet i am thinking to get CM hyper 212 Evo and artictic silver 5 as thermal paste.

Will My PSU be sufficient if i gp as per ur Suggestion, i have already order 3 120mm cabinet fans and its on the way.

according to your motherboard's cpu support list, fx-8320 is not supported

i think that's the reason the cpu clock speed is messing around, what's your bios version?

and my hardware monitor says that it goes to around 3995mgz max and min t0 1995mgz... isit ok? min temp goes to 18 deg and max 75-80 deg..
and what should be the best motherboard for my fx 8320 at budget around the asrock 970 extreme 4?

sorry, i am mistaken, it goes to 3995 because of turbo mode, that's normal, try disabling turbo mode from bios and see if there are changes in temps

Something is wrong.

Your CPU should throttle it's speed way before it reaches 80 degrees.

Update your bios as a first port of call.

yes I just updated my bios from p2.50 to p 2.60.

As a matter of fact, I think my temperature got stable but still its touches 70 n comes below 70 also while playing.

but on ideal booting, I m getting cpu temp 40 deg, but my all cores are at 28 deg. this is shown by AIDA64 software.

So whats my actual temp?

regarding the cooler, asrock recommends top down coolers not tower coolers like hyper 212 evo, top down coolers are like the stock amd cooler, here's an example

I have a 8320 on a M5A97 EVO non OC with stock cooler and mine goes around 65 degree. I would say that 70 should be healthy, that is the best that you could get with a stock cooler
how many case fans do you have?

Right now i have just one 120mm fan that came as factory fitted with my cooler master cabinet, but 3 fan i have already ordered, i will get it by next 3-4 days.

So what u suggest me to do, i mean where should i put my 3 fans in the cabinet... i have two slots at the top, one side, one bottom and two rear.. the one i ordered is also 120mm of cooler master

Right now only one have , the stock fan from cooler master.. already ordered three... after disabling the auto overclock option from bios, its now fixed at 3500mhz, idle 36 deg and on hoyrs of playing it goes to 63-67 deg... i want to make my processor more chill with aftermarket evo cooler for future proof and protection. Am i thinking rite?

I have 3 case fans, one intake and two exhaust, and there are loads of holes where cool air can come in.
I have 22c idle, and 65 100% load ( at gaming its lower, around 50-55 max)
First I would add several fans to the case and see if they make a difference, they should

the top and rear should be exhaust and side and front intake, but the most important thing is the cfm and rpm of the fan the higher the better
