My graphic card PCI cable doesn't fit my power supply

Hi, i have recently built my pc and i am basically finished. However, i can not connect my Asus gtx 760 to my Corsair Builder Series CXM 430W Modular .
The PCI cable that came with the graphic card isnt long enough and dpesnt fit into my power supply
sockets.
PCI cable that came with graphic card:

On the side of the 6 pin those pieces of sticky out plastic dont fit into my power supply

This seems to be the only cable which will work but cant find one any where?

I have plugged in a PCI cable into the graphic card but the end of the lead is a 6 pin, which doesnt fit but does fit my 8 pin socket but that socket is labelled cpu/ and is 8 pin so does it matter

Just use that one in the last picture. The one that has 6 than 2 extra hanging off. That's what needs to be used. I guess i don't understand whats not working...

EDIT: DON'T put that cpu 8 pin in your graphics card.

The card does require 2 PCIe cables, right?
The power supply has only one cable. I'd consider using a greater power supply, with 2 PCIe cables.

? quite simply my problem is the cable i have been given with my graphic card firstly isnt long enough and the 6pin side wont fit into my power supply as it has these plastic side bits as shown on the picture above. I have managed to fit a 8 pin as shown on last image into my graphic card slot, but the end is only a 6 pin( shown on the 2nd last image) which only fit the 8 pin socket but i dont know if it will work. The 8 pin socket on my power supply is labelled cpu.
What cpu pin?

Im confused prolly not hard right now since i have an hour left of work then its my weekend. But Why can't you plug this one into your card?

It says PCI-E on it. I have that on my PSU also i just zip tied it back since my GPU takes 2 6pins.

I have the same card and same power supply.

* do NOT use the cable that came with the graphics card, use ONLY the cable that came with the power supply

* one end is a solid 8-pin connector - plug that into the power supply, the bottom right connection point that has 8 pins (the other 3 have 6pins each), ignoring the white text that implies that the bottom is a 4+4 ATX/EPS connection

* the other end is the 6+2 pin connector - put the 2pin beside the 6pin (there's fingers on the connector that go under tabs) and plug into your card

done.

Yes i know this thankyou but is it ok to plug the other end which i show in picture 4 into the 8pin sokcet as in that picture there is only 6 pins and 2 empty ones does that matter

well, there's only one location into which you can plug in the cable, so... you really don't have an option NOT to plug it into there! and if you look at the physical cable, and start counting the wires that make up the cable, you'll eventually realize that... well, it's only got 6 wires anyways, so it's completely normal for the other 2 pins to be missing.

the reason for this is simple - the OTHER 6pin connectors on the power supply have 5V, 3.3V, and 12V. not what your GPU is expecting. the 8pin has only 12V. (and ground, obviously). THAT'S why the PCIe cable is made to fit only into that one spot.

fyi, I have the same setup. it's been running 24hr for the past 3 days. pretty sure that indicates it's A-OK to do!
