Is it normal if I get tremendous FPS drops (from 50-60 down to 25- 30) with a EVGA GTX780 SC edition??? And btw I am running D3DOverrider as well... It is extremely annoying. I have the game max out. And I've also tried alt+tab out of the game and back in.

Here are my specs:

-Intel Core i7 3770 @3.4GHz
-Nvidia GTX 780 (EVGA w/ ACX Cooler SC edition)
-16GB RAM

Note: I don't know if D3DOverrider is really working, because when I run the game I get the Windows asterisk sound that is working, but right after that beep I get the failure/error sound.

Please help!! Thanks in advance

I had the same problem on my 7870. Make sure triple buffering is enabled on D3D Overrider. If that doesn't work, try to ctrl-alt-del (alt-tabbing didn't work for me) out of Black Flag during game play, open up the task manager, and then go back to Black Flag and see if your FPS are back.

Also, my D3D Overrider also makes the error noise when I start Black Flag, but it still works.

Same issue here, just upgraded from 2 7850's to a 780 SC and it can't compete with them. They were running the game maxed at 60fps and now I stay around 30fps with a $500 gpu... makes no sense.

Nice Topic. i got the exact same problem. There was a new Nvidia driver update today and i was hoping that there was a fix for those fps drops aswel but no.... still 25-30 fps with a GTX 780 OC. when i max out. It haves to do with PhysX. when you put PhysX on high you get fps drops. but when you put it on low it is playable. and off gives massive fps. I think the PhysX in Assassins Creed 4 is not well optimized. its haves noting to do with our gpus. i guess we have to wait for a update of the game. ( if there will be one ).

Are any of you guys running into stutters in any other games with your 780? I am, from BF4, to lower end titles I get random short stutters, hard to explain and usually accompanied by a loss of audio for a split second too.

Ya guys, i dunno if this will help, But Basically, i was told to leave the in game V-Sync option ON, and also your graphics control panel V-sync and Trip buffer on, And The D3DOverrider ON, Make sure you have the game added in the list and high Application detection level for the game added in the direct3doverrider. Force Vsync and Force Trip Buff on...i dunno its soo messed ima go complain to Nvidia and Ubisoft i think. Good luck let me know if it works

Yeah seriously, I've contacted Nvidia recently about this. I'll try what you stated and see if I notice any differences. Thanks!
