Can I expect to overclock decently with this setup?

I'm planning to make my first self built computer in a week or 2 for gaming and media creation (largely SFM) as well as overclocking it to get best performance for my money.
Set up-
AMD Fx-8320

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler

Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P ATX AM3+ Motherboard

Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

EVGA GTX 660 2GB SC

Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Corsair 300R ATX Mid Tower Case

Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

So what kind of overlocking can i expect on the cpu with this and is there any improvements i can make with the setup without increasing the price of it (700$).

the FX 8320 is a fine processor that overclocks nicely if you have sufficient cooling... the only thing that may prevent higher overclocking potential is the motherboard. the 970g northbridge is fairly decent, but you would be better suited for overclocking with a 990FX northbridge motherboard. unfortunately, the 990fx northbridge motherboards cost more.

only other suggestion is get an EVGA GTX 760 instead of the 660, I think they are pretty much around the same price, if not slightly more, and the 760 is a better card.

otherwise it looks good! good luck with your build!

I already have the 660 (got it before i knew about the 760) But would getting a 760 and SLI it with the 660 in the future when i want to upgrade be possible with the set up too?

unfortunately you cant really SLI cards that are different, so combining a 660 and a 760 wouldn't work. the 660 is still a good card, but if you are going to go SLI in the future, you would have to get another 660 (same model, preferably)

also, the motherboard you chose (the gigabyte 970) only says it supports 2 way crossfire, not NVidia SLI, so im not 100% sure you can even upgrade to SLI.

still is a good set for the money! hope this helped!
