At 1920 x 1080 a single GTX 780 will max every game out there. A GTX 780 Ti is for higher resolutions and overkill for 1080p. 2 x GTX 780s is crazy overkill.

Pair a single GTX 780 with an i5 4670K or i7 4770K and 16GB of DDR3 2133 with a ~250GB SSD and you have an amazing gaming system.

If you just want to spend $1000 on video cards alone and have the $500-$1000 for a higher resolution monitor then go for it.

This is a great start. I did not include a case or an OS. The case is something you will have to look at everyday so you need to pick it.

For 1920 x 1080. A very solid build.

Now here are the higher resolution monitors. Obviously you get what you pay for.

If you can afford a higher resolution monitor and budget is not an issue then add another ( identical ) GTX 780 to my build above and change the power supply to this.
