A friend of mine told me that this was a good spec setup, but that's all he said. Anyone know what these specs will run? and if they are actually any good?

Intel Core i5 4670K Quad Core Retail CPU (Socket 1150, 3.40GHz, 6MB, Haswell, 84W)
Asus GTX 770 Nvidia GeForce DirectCU II OC 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Card (PCI Express 3.0, HDMI, DVI-I, DVI-D, Display Port, 256 Bit, 3D Vision Ready, GPU Boost 2.0)
Asus Maximus VI Hero C2 Motherboard (Socket 1150, Intel Z87, DDR3, S-ATA 600, ATX, 2 x PCI Express 3.0 x16, Intel I217V 1x Gigabit LAN Controller)
Corsair TX750V2 Enthusiast Series 750W ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Bronze PSU
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO (120mm)
Coolermaster Storm Enforcer Mid Tower ATX Case
WD 2TB Desktop SATA Hard Drive for NAS - Red

Feedback and advice would be appreciated, Thank You.

That is one epic setup mate, there is no other way to say it, core i5 will run any game without bottlenecks, GTX 770 is basically a rebranded overclocked gtx 680 which will run any heavier graphics game at 60-80 fps. GPU boost 2.0 is basically a tool built in to the card that will overclock the card itself depending on what parameters like temperatures and noise you set, very smart but buggy tool, Maximus Vi Hero board is a super board, but really overpowered, they are alots of motherboard that give you almost the same features for smaller price. For one graphics card TX750 is a overkill, take a cx600 power supply, it pays off! EVO is probably the most popular aftermarket cooler, good choice, you can add watercooling in your system but OFC there is a danger of water leaks and radiators and pumps stopping working, but still, nice choice! Case is a case, who cares, just look how good it looks and what stuff can it fit in there, and why would you use a WD red drive? It is better for Raid setups, get a WD blue for 60 dollars, nice build overall, what is your price tag?

That would be very good build, lower a motherboard a bit, you won't need that stuffed motherboard for gaming :D

That is a beast of a rig man, you can run any AAA title (But Crysis 3) at 60fps, probably more.
ASUS always make the best GPU heatsinks, so all in all, a good rig.

Indeed we do.

EVGA coolers look cooler though, it's a shame pretty much all manufacturers get rid of the "GeForce GTX" logo on the side of the card though.

I have one more for you guys, if that's okay.
I found this searching the web:

Intel 3rd Generation Core i5-3570K CPU (4 x 3.40GHz, Ivy Bridge, Socket 1155, 6Mb L3 Cache, Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0)
Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 DirectCU II 3GB GDDR5 Graphics Card (PCI Express 3.0, HDMI, DVI-I, DVI-D, Display Port, NVIDIA 3D Vision)
Corsair CML16GX3M2A1600C10 Vengeance Low Profile 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 Mhz CL10 XMP Performance Desktop Memory Kit Black
ASRock Z87 EXTREME4 Motherboard (Socket 1150, Z87 Express, DDR3, S-ATA 600, ATX, Haswell, Supports 4th Generation IntelCore Processors)
Corsair TX750V2 Enthusiast Series 750W ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Bronze PSU
Coolermaster Storm Enforcer Mid Tower ATX Case
Noctua 6 Dual Heatpipe with 140mm/120mm Dual SSO Bearing Fans CPU Cooler NH-D14 - Retail
Western Digital 1TB internal Hard Drive - Caviar Blue (3.5 inch)

Trying to keep my options open to different setups, so I can get the best one for myself. How does this one stand? Thank you.

That CPU is Z77, your motherboard is z87, they are incompatible.
You may as well get an i5 4670K as it's newer and easier to acquire.

@IllusoryLawyer1 Well as you can see, I am not personally computer spec savvy :/. So would you recommend i stick with the very first build I had suggested? or the one with the few modifications that others advised?
What about RAM? I believe i missed that out.

Thank you.

Personally I would get Kingston HyperX RAM, but instead of a NAS HDD I would go for a WD Caviar Blue HDD as NAS HDDs are for NAS servers mainly, not for gaming.

Question : As I am going for a similar build but for mobo I have an asus z87-pro.
For the power supply is 750W supply more than enough if I am not going to SLI ?
I am just planning to overlock a bit the CPU at some point. So again I will be ok with a 600W supply?
THanks
