Hello i am planning on buying the Asus Maximus 6 Hero motherboard but i want to know this question. If i do 2 way sli (2gpu's) on the motherboard will i still be able to put a dedicated sound card onto the motherboard and it would not effect performance of the 2 gpus and not eat up any bandwidth from the gpus?

no all 1150 and 1155 mb are like that with the video slots and pci-x slot. the video card slots are hard wire as 16x for one video card and 8x for two gpu.

so the asus maximus 6 hero will be fine if i decide to do 2 way sli on it and decide i want to get a dedicated soundcard nothing will conflict? is 1x speed good for the soundcard?

Hey I'm an audiophile nut, but I would question the need for a separate sound card. Especially on a Hero board, see below quote from their site.

If you want better sound 1st, you better have some pretty good speakers or you won't hear a difference. But next goto an External sound device. Use the TOS-Link optical output and connect to a D/A converter input of your surround sound receiver. This then goes to your amplifier/receiver and its speakers. (yeah, my PC is connected to my Home Theater System....)

your an 'audiophile'?? ke putas! the audio on hero is sheit (sad, but true), their isolated circuits leak digital noise like a mofo.

do get the external one or live in market fantasies about great sounds..

(i do have a degree in sound engineering and i do be tellin the truth)
