Something isn't right:
How To Troubleshoot Your Home-Built PC

But we will need a lot more information if we are to help you out
What are the parts?
What cables do you have plugged in?
What indicator lights are lit on the motherboard?
Where there any beep codes when you turned it on?
Do the fans spin when you turn it on?
Can you get into the BIOS?

Hello htcthelegend,

Maybe a stupid question, but are you using a dedicated graphics card? And if yes, are you connecting to the motherboard, or to the graphics card itself? It's always easy to tell because your graphics card will be running horizontal, and the mobo will be vertical.

Always best to check the easiest solutions first...

I have it plugged into the mobo. Yes I have a dedicated graphics card (asus GeForce 760)

Problem solved! Just swap the HDMI cable over from the mobo to the 760, and you should be good to go!

Hello htcthelegend,

As a measure of troubleshooting, have you tried connecting the computer to any other display, or was it only connected to the television?

I know I always check the easy (physical) things first... (i.e. cables are all firmly attached, from video card to display, the display device is on the correct HDMI input, both the computer and display are firmly connected to a power source, etc).

Once you rule out all of the physical aspects, then you move to hardware and software issues.

I keep forgetting to update you! So I did all the tests and figured out that my motherboard was defective so I exchanged it and now my computer is up and running. Thanks for the help
