New GPU not performing up to par

I got a new geforce gt 610 and replaced my old geforce 8400 gs and my games are running terribly.Even though the 610 is much better then the 8400. Please help.

The 610 is typically known as a terrible gaming card, not able to run any real full on 3d game at any decent settings. If you ware wanting to game on a desktop it is recommended that you make the jump to at least a $120 gpu like the 650ti or an amd equivalent. anything below is almost a waste of money as most integrated cpu graphics processors will be faster
