The answer always is get the best card you can afford at the time and then SLI down the road. Does your wife really need a 670 in her comp? Some of those r290 prices make me flinch, though Amazon has some for $508.00 (reference) and EVGA 780 SC w/ ACX cooler for $519.99. The ACX cooler model is actually cheaper then the 780 SC with the reference blower by $10.00 if you have prime.

Thanks for the ideas, But the wife is getting my 670 and I am a EVGA guy all the way. They have always treated well when I needed warranty of tech help. I have bought 3 cards from them over the years
