eVGA GeForce GTX 650 ti not displaying on monitor.

I recently upgraded my Acer Aspire M3420-ES348 with a eVGA GeForce GTX 650 ti and Corsair CX500 500w PSU. My GTX 650 will not display to my monitor. the onboard VGA and HDMI are disabled and the power supply works fine with my old card (AMD Radeon HD 7350 OEM).

I've tried both DVi ports (Dvi-d and Dvi-i) and the VGA adapter.

The card is plugged in by a six pin connector. I've tried both connectors and the peripheral cable connector that came with it.

well ok but you got to keep in mind that thoes computer makers like yours ,dell, hp. whoever fix the bois so you cant do certin upgrades. this is due to they dont want you to do somthing to there computer and damage it and then blame it on them for warrenty or refunds. its a sad fact. it may be the card you got now and a new one may work better lets hope so ...good luck

P.S. seeing that you are were all amd why not try a amd card it would have been a more direct swap without all the driver changing ?? just a thought.

some time these store computers like yours dell hp ''fix'' the bios so some upgrades cant work and you may have that going on so i figure that if you put the old card back in ti works fine?? i been finding this out by helping a gut with a dell and his new gtx650 man we worked our butts off to get that card to work.. give me you system specs and i will try to see if theres a ''trick'' to help you. no promases.. but his was able to go to desktop in safemode only when we first got started will yours atleast do that?

No my PC doesn't even display the Bios launching with the GTX 650 ti.

According to my PC my Specs are:

OS: Windows 8

Possessor: AMD A8 5500

Video Card/Graphics Card (Specified above)

Ram: 8 GB DDR3

Motherboard: OEM (Not Specified)

i copyed this from anandtec from bubbalone--- '' If Windows 8 came pre-installed on your computer, it almost certainly boots in UEFI mode. To get your computer to recognize your graphics card, you’ll need to switch the boot mode from UEFI to Legacy and then disable the Secure Boot option.


Power on the computer and when the F2 Setup, F12 Boot Options appears in the lower-right corner of the screen, press F12.
When the Boot Device Menu appears, use the arrow keys to choose the BIOS Setup option.
In the BIOS Setup Utility, move to the Boot tab and disable the Secure Boot Control option.
Next, navigate down to the Boot Mode option and switch the boot mode from UEFI to Legacy. Press F10 to save your changes.
Once your computer restarts, press F12 to bring up the Boot Menu again and under 'OTHER OPTIONS' you should now see 'Peripheral Device Setting (OPROM Setting)'.
Use the arrow keys to choose Peripheral Device Setting, then make the approptiate changes in BIOS to disable the onboard VGA and enable the PCIe graphics card. Press F10 to save your changes.
Allow the computer to restart and test to confirm that your grapics card is now functional.
Once satisfied, restart your computer then go back into the BIOS and switch the boot mode back to UEFI with secure boot enabled ''

see if it can help you some -- i dont know much about win 8 outher then i dont want it . but its a start

hmmm. the last guy i helped with a dell found that if he removed some ram sticks it work, why i dont know but he had 4 sticks. if for fun you could try with 1 stick and see if it goes for you. see like i said they jack the bios so upgrades dont work so remove one of the memory sticks and see if it will work it did for the last guy i helped you never know.

serching around i see you got a few therads out looking for help.. i realy cant find a thing on this for the acer just some laptop things. i wish i knew more to tell you on this or knew what trick it took to get you going. if i find or think of somthing i'll keep this thread tracked to check on you.

Yeah I took it to an expert, the card wasn't the problem. neither were the other five we tried. You were right about acer locking the BIOS. I'm done. I have a ticket with Acer ATM and I am possibly just going to buy a new PC. I'm sick of acer's BS. This isn't the first time they've Fudged me.
