I have a budget of about 180 dollars for both a motherboard and cpu I am wanting amd so if someone could put links to some I would be very grateful, I will be gaming.

hard to find a good combo with $180..
this is the best that i can for you..

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($116.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: ECS A970M-A DELUXE v1.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($65.38 @ Newegg)
Total: $182.36
despite the brand (uh, well yeah..ecs), actually this one is good overclocker motherboard..

but if you willing to add slightly more, actually this one will be better..
well, with a better motherboard..
