I am attempting to swap out 2 cross-fired radeon hd 6770s with a single radeon r9 270x. I am not getting the new card to be detected. So far I have re-set the card a couple times (in the appropriate pci-e slot), made sure both power connectors are attached, and disabled the old drivers--still not being detected. I put the old cards (6770) back in and they are working fine-just no luck on the new card.

motherboard: Asus Sabertooth 990fx
chip: AMD 1090t
power: thermaltake 750w

Thanks in advance for any assistance

Try deleting the 6770s from your device manager and uninstall the old drivers. I had to do this the last time I upgraded my graphics card.
Once that's done, Windows should notice you've plugged in a new card. Install the latest drivers and you should be good.
