Hello everyone! This is my first post to the community so I hope I do this the right way.
I've just got a new PC (it's Christmas, babe!) which includes the following:

MOBO: Asus M5A97 LE R2.0
Processor: AMD FX 8320 (3.5 ghz)
Videocard: Radeon R9 270X
HDD: ST1000DM003-1CH162 ATA Device
RAM: 8gb DDR3 1333 mhz
Power: Sentey EPP650-SS (650w) (PFC) (80+)*
* I copied what the post made by the people selling this pre assembled pc!

Ok, so i plug my PC to the wall, turn it on and voilá! Everything works perfect! But the thing is that it came with Linux/Ubuntu as the OS, which I've never used before (I chose this PC to work with Adobe, audio engineering software and to be able to do some decent gaming, Dota 2 mostly). So, my first call is to format the HDD and install my Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I introduced the CD and followed the steps as I did many times before. Everything was OK until I installed the CD drivers that came with my new hardware, suddenly the PC freezes for (apparently) no reason.
I tryied to reboot and it freezes again. I try safe mode and i have no problems. So I decided to format it again, and so I did, but this time I would download the drivers from the internet (in case the ones on the CD where out-of-date). The result was the same! That horrible freezing that will only be solved by re-booting.
I started to Google things up and I ended up updating my MOBO's BIOS to the latest version, and, when booting, my MOBO gives 3 BIOS options ("power saving", "normal" or "optimal ASUS"). By default it boots with the "normal" mode, but I decided to change it to "optimal ASUS" and that seemed to do the trick. I could boot with no issues, and I even got the chance to download my previously bought videogames from Steam and give them a try with the new hardware. But then, after full hours of real fun, IT FREEZES AGAIN!
Now I'm typing this in safe mode with networking funcionts and no freezing issues at all, begging for help!
All the rig is new, I have all the boxes and guarantees. I bought it a few days ago and the only thing I did, besides this whole explanations, is plugging another HDD I use for internal data storage to the SATA of the MOBO. I used to have this configuration before, also pluged by me and, before I left the place where I bought the PC I asked the technician if I could plug that HDD and he agreed.

Please help! This community has been really helpful to me (just by reading posts) but I just need to dig a little bit deeper.

If I missed some essential information please let me know.

Sorry for my English!

Happy holidays!!

I can't do that by myself, I would have to take it to a technician.
It's important that I add this information: with the "optimal ASUS" mode I could boot and now I'm running it normally, will test it while gaming tonight. Nevertheless, I'm still concerned about this issue and the "fix" I found.

well, actually build a computer system out of case is easy..:)
you can do it by your self..

also check your processor and graphic card temperature..if it's too hot, this can be a cause of your problem too...

The temperature is around 47°C 116°F according to SpeedFan when gaming. Is this too hot? Also I read my videocard box and it says "Overclock edition".. Would that mean it's overclocking all the time?
I have 2 side coolers that induce air and 2 coolers (one is on the power source) on the back that extract air.

Oh btw, I really appreciate your help!

well,47'c while gaming/load or idle..?
if gaming/load, that's normal temperature..

overclocking edition means factory overclock, well, it's absolutely safe...there's nothing have to worry..

You need at least a 700 watt power supply. I had the same issues, the system would freeze, no blue screen. I switched out my 500 watt and put in a 700 watt. No more issues.

OK guys I am sure there are more than one of you looking for an answer to this and i kid you not I had exactly the same problems with exactly the same setup apart from having 4Gb of kingston memory instead of 8. I have since solved this problem and it was a matter of waiting time on the part of Asus.. They released a Bios on january the 10th 2014 .. The bios is numbered 2202.. My computer no longer freezes and and works as a computer i expected to work.. I was worried for a while but now am completely happy with my setup... Shame Asus could not get tis sorted sooner but as they say "All good things come to those that wait"

Asus ai suite will most possibly mess up your pc, if you have it installed (it was on the dvd) i recommend you to uninstall it immediately.
Source: i had the same problem myself.
