I just got a GTX 770 for my new computer. The computer works without the card in, but refuses to boot when it's installed. Me and my friend looked over it, and we think it's a driver problem. The Motherboard knows to use the card, but doesn't know how, and it's messing up the boot. I try to install the driver, but it won't install without the card in.

Solution
I had the same problem once i got my evga gtx 770. You need to update your bios. Install your last gpu, go to your motherboards website, find your newest bios update for your motherboard, install it on an external drive (like a usb), go to your motherboards bios menu and update your bios from your external drive
