Lenovo IdeaPad y510p interior screen problem?

So I just received my gaming laptop today in the morning, and after about 5-6 hours of transferring data from my old laptop, the my screen decided to suddenly... break. Well not really break...

I can't really explain what happened, so here:

The light is clear and it appears to be brighter when on a white screen. It's quite annoying to look at.

Any idea what happened? Should I use my warranty to get it fixed?

What do you mean "look for the most recent intel and nvidia drivers" ? I'm clueless haha. I have Intel core i7 and dual nvidia geforce graphics.

I apologize in advance for reviving a dead thread, but this is the only other case of the same problem that I am having.... I updated my graphics drivers as suggested, but the problem wasn't fixed. I have had my computer for about a month and the screen looks similar. Original poster, what was your course of action, and have you had the problem fixed?
