Heey Guys,

Im occuring a problem, with my GTX780. First of all my specifactions:

Cooler Master HAF X (case)
Cooler Master G750M, 750 Watt
MSI Z87-G45 Gaming (motherboard)
MSI GeForce GTX 780 (GPU)
Intel® Core™ i7-4770K (processor)
Scythe Mugen 4 SCMG-4000 (cooler)
Crucial 16 GB DDR3-1600 (RAM)
Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-bit (OS)

Want to know more just ask.

Now my problem:
While i was gaming my screens turn black after a while. Afters some research with afterburner and kombuster. I found out this happens when my GPU tempreature reaches 40 degrees. With my fans running at 100% the temperature only goes slower, but still a shutdown at 40 degrees. First time is use my setup. So im wondering, what's wrong.

EDIT:
I tried out a few things, and one of it worked but it's only a temp fix for me. What i did was stored my gtx780 in a other pci slot. And now he runs trough Kombus without black screening me.Now that i can remember, first time i connected my pc. He didn't recognize my graphic card. So i open the case and checked if all cables were connected. Than he find him. For me it's a very strang problem, and I ask myself. Does anyone recognize or can troubleshoot this problem?

Why are you so certain it is your GPU causing this problem? have you checked you cpu temps?

I have not (yet). But could you give me a explanation why my cpu could be the problem. A moment and i go checkout/share my cpu settings in BIOS.

could certainly be your cpu overheating.

Download realtemp and monitor your temps with that.

Are those during gaming?

It's a pitty, but their not.

Run some test, but kind of hard when ure new to this. Checked out realtem with kombuster. Black screen after GPU reaches 40 degrees. While CPU temperature rises to 61 degrees (last seen before screen turns black). Does that mean the CPU is overheating? As far as i know CPU temperature has to be between 30-55 degrees.

a CPU won't shut down from heat until like 100C or around there. Run memtest, this could be RAM related.

Sounds like the drivers are crashing or a driver issue. I would uninstall all NVidia drivers, run drivers sweeper, and install the latest drivers.

Quick question: Are the two extra power plugs connected to the top of the video card?

Also, do you get an OS crash first or an immediate power off?

Already tried this a several times. Even unninstalling my OS and re-install, with his drivers. Results the same

Yes there is a 8pin and a 6-ping. Connected on the top of my videocard.

Also i don't get OS crash at all. System still running. I have to force my pc to restart to make a connection with my screen again.

I have run a memtest. Since it whas getting late, i runned him all night. But not 1 error occured. He found 8 cores started 4. Also he run trought all the 16GB ram as far as i can see.

The only test that makes the system fail is the one on the GPU. GPU on 40 degrees, gives a black screen. On this black screen the rest of my pc is still running. Although i see the light from keyboard and mice blink once. But screen remains black. So i need to force him to shutdown and restart my pc.

Have you tried disabling onboard graphics? If not already disabled.
