I have a Gigabyte GA-970A-D3 mobo with an Athlon II X3 455 CPU. The OS is Win7 64-bit with SP1. I am trying to get two Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 GPUs to work in Crossfire, but every time I turn on Crossfire the screen goes totally black. There is still a signal going to the monitor, because the monitor's idle light does not come on. I have the latest drivers installed from the AMD site. The output I am using is DVI converting to VGA. I tried reversing the Crossfire cable but I get a BSOD. Any suggestions or solutions?

Whats the make and model of the power supply? Do the cards work separately(one at a time)?

Oh sure, the cards work separately. They've been running in different computers up until a couple of days ago, when one of the computers got an upgraded GPU. I forgot to get the PS specs; I can go get them in a few hours. Does this sound like the problem?

If its not able to power both cards, that would be a problem.
