Hello,

Here is my current build:
Windows 7

Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4P motherboard

2X GeForce GTX 260 896MB SLI

OCZ Platinum 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Voltage Desktop Memory Model

Core I7 920 CPU

640 gb 7200 rpm hard drive

750W Corsair PSU
------------------------------------------------
I was simply going to add 6gb more of my current brand of memory, but, it appears the memory I have in my rig is unavailable now. Therefore, I am now thinking of replacing my current memory by purchasing a new brand of memory to put in my system. I have very limited IT knowledge. So I have a bunch of questions to ask. What steps do I take to install the new memory? Do I have to uninstall the drivers to my old memory? How do I boot the system up after I put the new memory in the slots? Is it as simple as unplugging the old memory, plugging in the new memory, and installing the drivers from the cd?

Any advice would be appreciated
I use the system for gaming.
Im going to install a new video card and add a solid state drive, the same questions I posed apply to those upgrades, as well, so any advice related to those upgrades would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

I don't believe memory uses drivers... Or atleast for the new systems.
And yes, its as easy as unplugging old ram and plugging in new ram.
Corsair Vengeance is a cheap yet high performance solution for desktop RAM! Its 80$ for a single 8GB stick and 100$ for 2x4GB sticks.
