Hello, I'm looking to upgrade my PC to be able to run new games for a few years. I've done small and cheap upgrades before, but I want to get something serious now. I'm looking to spend around $800, but I'm willing to go over if I need to. I've gotten some advice from friends and put together a cart of items, so I figured now would be a good time to come here for some advice.

My current specs are the stock HP Pavilion p6717c with an upgraded GPU/PSU (AMD HD 7850 1GB/500W PSU):

Here is what I was looking at getting for now:

GTX 770 4GB GPU

i5-3570K CPU

750W PSU

(I'm unsure about the motherboard and case because if I can find a decent smaller motherboard that is big enough for all of my other parts and the HP case that I have, I would like to avoid spending money on a new case.)

So, I only have two specific questions:

1. Are there any other motherboards I can get that will have enough room for the rest of the parts and cause minimal, if any, performance loss? ( I would like to avoid buying a new case if I can, unless I can get one cheap. )

2. With this setup what other parts/accessories are required? (Surge protectors/fans/Memory/ect)

I would also like any general advice on the build. Like whether it bottlenecks, has compatibility/space issues, or if there are better/cheaper parts available.

The components you chose are quite good , with the overclocked 3570K there will be no bottlenecks , and about the motherboard , i think the motherboard you chose is also very good and it has much room , the case is perfect , it's my favourite actually . Of course you will need memory and storage , 8gigs of 1866 kingston hyperx will suit you:http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-1866MHz-PC3-15000-KHX18C...

If you upgrade the mobo, you reinstall the whole OS, If you could, it might just be better to start clean. But, you wanted upgrades, so thats what I'll do.

You will not need a new case for this motherboard.

Everything else looks solid.

Thanks, Would I need any other parts to prevent problems? Like a CPU cooler for overclocking?

For overclocking, you need a cpu cooler. If not, you don't need one, as the stock one that comes with it is fine for stock core speeds.

And that motherboard you recommended won't cause any bottle-necking will it? I'm probably going to go with it if it doesn't. Since it will save me a decent amount of money.
