code 10 this device is failed to start.

when i was making a bootable file of xp on my pen drive then an unkown error came,after that my pen drive is not showing in my computer.when i checked in device management it there but having an error of code 10 in properties and description is "the device is failed to start.

How were you making a Pen Drive install of XP given that XP did not support install from pen drive. Microsoft did not support that until Windows 7?

As for the code 10 error try this from device manager uninstall the device and then refresh and see if it gets reinstalled correctly. I have on occasion had that error and that has always fixed it for me.
