hey guys, this will be my first post and my first proper gaming rig :)

im not completely sure what my setup will be but i'll give you an idea:
- 4670k
- gtx 770 (not completely sure what kind yet)
- some corsair vengeance 8gb ram

my problem is that I'm not entirely sure what motherboard i'll need, as i know in the future i will not be using SLI, so i don't want to overkill and have functions on the motherboard i won't need.

i've had a look at some z87's such as the asus maximus vi hero or the msi z87-g45, but i can't come to a conclusion, help?

and just to clarify it will mainly be used for gaming, possibly some minor video editing nothing special!

thanks guys

Yes it is! The P8Z77-V Pro does have an LGA1155 socket with a Z77 chipset. The Maximus V Extreme also has the LGA1155 socket. Your processor will match with the motherboard. Hope this hlped. Cheers!

Go for an Asus P8Z77-V Pro. It has everything you require and then some. However, you can try and look at the Asus Maximus V Extreme. However, the latter has 4 slots for a 4 Way SLI and I suppose you won't be needing them... Hope this helped. Cheers!
