Help me choose between the lesser of two evils

Okay, I got a new comp for christmas. It's actually my first quad core (well intel are lying bitches having 2 physical cores but 2 logicals per core). It has an integrated hd 2500, but I also have my old dedicated 5450. Now I know that neither of these options are preferable, but I have to choose between these until I can get a better card. I have seen the detailed specs of the hd 2500; the only thing it has on the 5450 is the fact it can have up to 16XX MB of vRam, while the 5450 only has 512. I guess i just need to know if the low vram in the 5450 is as big an issue as the hd 2500s other poor specs. Thank you in advance!

Yeah, VRAM doesn't always indicate better performance.

If you are curious, why not just try both and see which one works best for you?

Laziness. That and my dad is a little upset that he got me this great computer but the graphics are only livable. The rest of it is good except for the core i3. I'm an AMD fanboy. But the i3 has been a beast thus far.

Well buying a pre-built computer generally means it will not have a GPU, or will have a rather weak one. Or they will severely overcharge you for a good one. That's why I will never buy and always build. Saves an unbelievable amount of money, and you get better components, and a learning experience.

The i3 is a decent CPU, not the best for gaming, but it is comparable to Pretty much any Quad-Core AMD has.

Well either way you go, good luck.

Well I put in the the 5450. It only benchmarks 3 points higher than the integrated (pass mark 8.0), but as we all know those are just numbers. It does allow me to run crysis 2 at gamer settings(I have 1.0, 1.9 gave me trouble before because it wouldnt use the autoexec tweaks) at 800x600 buttery smooth, i dont know fps because I haven't downloaded fraps. Using auto exec tweaks I can use 1024x768, but I like the HDR and blur. Thanks for the help friend I'm sure I'll be using this forum soon again, probably same category, and I'll be looking for your name.
