sli one low end card with a higher end card

I have a gts 450 cyclone and a gtx 650 I was wondering how it would work out if I would sli the two.... if i would get any performance boost at all.

You can SLI another 450 or 650 but not a 450 and a 650. If your 650 is the boost edition you can SLI with another 650 boost edition, if not you will need to step up to at least a 660 or higher to SLI. The 650ti Boost Edition is the lowest 6 series part that can do SLI.

Hi Mathew,

Historically speaking Nvidia does not allow the SLI ing (if that's a word) of two (2) different graphic card models. So a gtx 650 will only SLI with a gtx 650. So to answer your question, it will not work at all.

On the flipside, some of AMD's radeon graphic cards allow the crossfire of different GPU models. Again this is limited to models that are closely aligned. You would have to look these up.

thank you i bought the 650 really because nvidia could not find and or make a stable driver for the 450 gts i still really like the card i had it for 3 years and it is still running strong with only 48c running crysis 3 lol
