I have a GTX 760 and was looking at the 290x for an upgrade. Would it be better to go SLi 760's or a single 290x. I am not the most familiar with AMD.

By raw power the two 760s will likely still be faster

actually the custom cooler versions of the 290x have started to show up. if you can find one it's a better deal compared to 2 760 cards. if you have a 760 already it still makes sense to get another one for sli. if not, go for single card solutions, they always work better in the long run
Don't get the 290X if it has the stock cooler.

I'd rather get a 780 Ti over that.
Your best bet for now should be to crossfire with another 760.

Buying a 780ti seems silly as well if you have a 760.
SLI is probably the best option
But it is true the 290X is alittle better for BF4, but not to the point that it will beat SLI 760
