Hi all, noob here. First of all, thank you for taking the time to read this. I am looking for a budget gaming system. I have found these on sale and wanted to know what you guys thought about them and if they are compatible:

I am wanting to pair it with a gigabyte HD Radeon 7790 1GB OC and a 650W XFX PSU and 120 GB Intel SSD.

I currently have an ASUS P5QL Pro, Core 2 Duo e8400, 8GB DDR2.

I am wanting to play games like BF4 and crysis 3 and COD ghosts.

Thanks guys!

well... probably newer games will utilize more cores. I think the 6300's turbo is higher, it will reach 4.1, I don't know what the 4130's. But nevertheless, both are great cpu's. Really depends on your budget.

I still use my good old trusty E8600 overclocked. I didn't find a game that will not give me at least 40 - 50fps. But BF4 and crysis are CPU demanding games. And could utilize more than two cores. Anyway... it would be 100% a good improvement.

7790 in crossfire, would put it somewhere between the 7850 and 7870 i believe. but I am not 100% sure.

Depends from the game though, I would go with 6 cores just to play it safe, but the fx 4130 is still a good quad core. I don't think it will bottleneck. If you are planning to add another graphics card, buy a 650ish watt PSU. or sell your current card and get a newer. That's what I do, and saves me money and consumption
