I plan to emulate Gamecube and PlayStation 2 games on my rig tops. Maybe run Tribes: Ascend at highest settings in 1366 x 768 resolution.

I'm also wondering if I could use my 1333 MHz modules for this rig or should I upgrade it to 1600 or 1866 for better performance?

What about the RAM. Oh and it was impossible to get a constant frame rate with a Pentium D on an IGP.

well depends on the amount. If you have 16gb of 1333 you're fine. if you have 8gb you're fine. 4 you're "ok", and 2 is lacking. You need 4 for 99.9999% of games right now, even battlefield 4 only uses like... 3 gigs of ddr5.

Interesting so many upgrading, because 4GB isn't enough for BF4 - and think the DDR5 is a typo, as DDR4 isn't even commercially available - GPUs use a version of DDR5 for GPUs

Oops, that was indeed a typo. Thanks for pointing that out, had my head in GPU land xD

You can play BF4 fine with 4gb, however, if you want any real performance, 8 gigs is recommended. Right now, you're kind of foolish if you're not going to get at least 8gb anyway. BF4 uses 3 gigs of memory, but thats not taking into account any other processes as well.

APU like fast DRAM and utilize it heavily with the built in GPU if you are utilizing that, I'd be looking for 2x4GB 1866/8-9 to 2133/9-10, something like the GSkill SNipers which I've found to be very good with AMD rigs, an alternative would be the Ripjaws X series of sticks
