Hiya,

I've been farting about trying to decide on a new gpu for a while now. I've finally decided that the 780 is for me and have ordered one.

I currently have an OCZ 550w fatal1ty psu which I presume won't be sufficient? (please correct me if wrong!). If it's not sufficient which should I get? I don't want to spend more than £60-£70 and prefer Amazon!

Thanks

The required is 600w and make sure you have atleast 42 amps on the 12v rail. I would recommend getting a bit higere psu like 850w for future proof sli ect ect

the minimum recommended PSU is 600 Watt, it might be able to run on a 550 watt PSU but that isn't advised and you will encounter a blue screen (PSU using too much power than it can handle) a lot and won't be able to overclock. I would suggest a 650 Watt PSU or even 700 watt but 650 watt can overlock and everything. The more wattage you have the more efficient the PSU will run so having more watts doesn't hurt. I only recommend Antec or Corsair PSU's which to me are the most reliable and highest quality. I currently have an Antec in my build but Corsair have really good ones too. I would go 650 watt as it is the sweet spot for that card. I would get this PSU: Corsair VS650 and It will be in your price range, it is a budget, high quality PSU. Hope this helps.

The thing is that it proably will because 600w is minimum. I always go over the minimum.

always go above the minimum recommended, always good to have some headroom for overclocking and efficiency
