I made the mistake of going from win 7 to win 8, then got the free upgrade to 8.1, my problem is when I first boot up to windows, it requires me to enter a password. I am the only one who uses this home PC and really really want to remove the password so that I don't have to mess with it, how do I do that please?

Solution

he knows the password, he just wants not to enter it every time he logs in :)

it should be easy to enter control panel, users and remove it from there

yes, I created a Microsoft account, did not know that would make me enter the PW when I boot. I don't need the account, I get my email thru charter. I deleted the Microsoft account, but sill have to enter the PW on boot, go figure, guess im stuck with it.
