I am trying to make the VERY BEST gaming PC for $650. It is a strict limit of $650 but I could add $1. I have made the best build I can but wanted to know if any of you have any other ideas. I will be using this for gaming, playing games like bf4 etc. I live in Australia so please only use items off MSY (http://www.msy.com.au/systems.jsp)

The best build I can make with $650.

CPU - AMD FX-6300 ($138)

Motherboard - ASRock 980DE3-U3S3 AM3 ($64)

Memory - G.Skill Ripjaws-X 8G Kit(4Gx2) DDR3 2133 ($99)

Storage - Seagate Barracuda 1TB ($68)

Video Card - Sapphire SA-R7260X-2GD5-OC ($159)

Case - Cooler Master FORCE 500 ($49)

Power Supply - Corsair VS450 450W ($55)

DVD Drive - ASUS DRW-24D3ST Black 24x DVD-RW Writer (OEM) ($19)

Total - $651

Can you beat this performance with the same amount of money?

With just a little more money and a few changes, you can fit in a Nvidia 660 in this budget which is a beast when compared to the 260x.

You build looks pretty solid but your choice of motherboard and memory concerns me a bit.
You could change your memory to use DDR3-1600 with no performance drop at all and it would save you a few dollars.
Then I would apply those dollars and get a 970 chipset motherboard.
The motherboard you chose uses the 760g chipset which wont allow you to realize the full power of the FX-6300. It may even throttle down its clock speeds due to the weaker VRMs that board uses.
If it were me and I had that budget, I would go with the FX-4300. If your using it as a gaming box, you wont really notice any performance decrease. Couple that with the DDR3-1600 and you might have enough for a 970 chipset motherboard.
Looking through that website, I'm surprised at how much higher the prices are down under than they are here in US.
You might be ok with the components you have chosen, but I doubt you will have the best experience with that motherboard.
That's just my 2 cents, take it for what it is.
If I have more free time today I might spend some time on that website and see what kind of a budget gaming PC I can come up with that's within your budget. It might be fun!

You can get a very similar DVD drive which will give you the same performance. I recommend the Liteon iHas which is a couple bucks cheaper. Also, the you could save $15 on the PSU if you go with the Corsair CX430. It's only 20Watts less which I don't think will matter too much. Few a few dollars more you can get a 270x which will give you better performance. You could also save money on the case and the HDD if you go for slightly less storage such as 620GB's.
