Hi friends of Tom's Hardware,

I recently built a custom pc with a friend for editing/gaming (He did 90% of the work). I am getting the hang of things...however I'm still a noob haha.

First, here is my rig.
MoBo - Asus Z87
CPU - i7 4770k
GPU - gtx 780
Ram - 16gb (can't recall the brand)
Storage - 1.) Samsung 840 SSD 250g (Used for OS, and adobe creative cloud)
2.) 3tb Optical drive for everything else (I think its a Barracuda?)
OS - Windows 8.1 64bit *I still have the Disc*

I also have a disc reader, its an asus, no blu-ray however..

My question is this,
I have been an idiot and saved so many things in so many places that I can no longer find them (I edit for a living currently). I have backed up all the necessities, and would just like to start over.

What is the easiest way to wipe both drives, and write the OS back on my SSD?
Also, will I need to re-install every driver? If so which ones? (If possible a link to a download page or a tutorial would be wonderful)

I apologize if it is a stupid question, but I have been using Mac for the past 8+ years and am used to just clicking a few buttons and having it clean install in no time.

I appreciate your help,

Chad aka flphinatic!

first when you're installing the windows unplug the hdd just to make sure you install windows in your ssd and be sure to set the ssd to AHCI in the bios and when you're installing it you should do a clean install so all of your data will be deleted and after that you got an ssd with only windows installed, before putting the hdd again install other drivers like your motherboard, video cards, and software that you like to install like antivirus, then plug in your hdd and format it to ntfs, that should wipe all of your data and the drives for your motherboard and gpu should be in the box they came with but for the gpu if you want maximum performance you should go the the nvidia website and download the latest drivers ,that will work to for the motherboard, but if you already have your os and drives and software in your ssd and dont have anything that you dont want in your ssd you just need to format your hdd to ntfs :)
