hello I have just got a Dell Alienware Aurora R4 ALX PC Tower for Christmas I have fitted a MSI H55M-ED55 Motherboard I have connected it all to the tower when I turn plug the power lead in the back all I got was a light on the on off switch on the mother board and it would not turn on via the motherboard switch or the power button on the case so after about a hour of looking in the case convincing my self I knew what I was doing I removed the LCD+SWITCH with a blue end from the JFP1header on the motherboard I pressed the on off switch on the motherboard and it started I then pressed the power button on the tower but it did not work so then turned the pc off via the on off switch on the motherboard and reconnected the LCD+SWITCH which has the blue end and I think about six small wires connected to it I put the power lead in the back of the pc tower but all that happened was the on off switch on the motherboard lights up but will not start . when the pc tower is turned on by the motherboard all the lights work if that's any help

what might be wrong it that the wires are bent at an odd angle causing one of them to brake or more likely you psu does not have enough power to start you computer. what happens is it takes more power to start a computer than to run one because at the start all of your computer components draw alot power at the one time to start up. I have read somewhere that a soft restart works, when a each component is started individually until the whole pc is running but to do this it takes alot of expensive and technical tools/hardware and it would be a hassle to do every time you turn on your pc. I would contact Dell/Alienware before trying anything new considering they built you system.
