Success! Overclocked my 3570k, also what does this mean?

Hey guys. So when I first built up my computer, I done all the settings etc and for the Overclock I just let Asus do the 'Optimal' settings, where it does it automatically for you. What that done was set my BLCK or whatever, frequency to 103, so my ram went from 1333mhz to 1378mhz, and the cpu clock was at 4.2 Ghz. And using Tomb Raider, on Ultimate Settings with TressFX enabled (but ambient occlusion off), doing the benchmark on that, I got 44 fps average.

So then I decided I will overclock my CPU myself, so I sell that BLCK frequency back to normal from 103 -> 100. Because OC my ram seemed to give me a little trouble anyway. Set the voltage from 1.200v -> 1.280v, and the clock from 4.2Ghz -> 4.5Ghz. Now running that same benchmark, same settings, I go from 44 fps, to 51 fps, which is actually amazing if you think about it. Same story in Skyrim, I done a before and after test where I loaded the game, didn't do anything stood there a few seconds looking towards whatever, all max settings and enb, and my fps went from 61 -> 73.

I did run a Stress Test using that Prime95, and my temp did go up to like 90c, but I notice whenever I play games anyway my temp never goes that high, it's always like 60c - 70c. But anyway here is a pic of my overclock settings.

Also my specs are;
Asus Sabertooth Z77
i5 3570k @ 4.5Ghz
Hyper 212 EVO
8GB Kingston HyperX blu
EVGA GTX 660 Superclocked
1TB Western Digital
Corsair 600W Gaming Series 2013

I guess my main concern here is, my computer wont die next year or something will it? Because of these clock speeds, I mean it should still last 3+ years easy because I got that Sabertooth motherboard which is like the best anyway.

Anyway my main question, is this, what does all this mean? It's another option it seems with the Sabertooth.

Solution
Nope, that is normal. You have the CPU Current Capability set at 110%, which means it can draw more than you set it at (1.28 + 10% = 1.4V)

And when it is idle it drops the power to keep temps and powerdraw lower, so that is all good :)
On a moderate overclock like that you should be fine. You won't harm anything, and your temps seem good. (although the 90c seems a bit high it isn't doing that all the time, and is staying stable)

Those other options are for more extreme overclocking, and if your system is stable as is, you shouldn't need to mess with those.

Alright man, I'll leave those other options then. I did do a lot of reading, and as long as the voltage stays under 1.3v (which is safe) the cpu should last 8 years down from 10 years for example. Which by then we will all be playing in 3D.

I guess the next step now is to sell my 660, as they still go for quite a bit on Ebay, add a bit more to that then buy a 760.

I have just noticed something, I downloaded that CPU-Z, and when I do a stress test, it tells me my Core Voltage is 1.360, even though I do have it set to 1.280. Otherwise when it's just idle the cpu-z says it's at 1.152v.

Is this anything to worry about?

The highest your CPU should ever reach during Prime95 is 80c, you should not overclock with software because you could get a better, more stable overclock through your bios. If it reaches 90c during prime95, it WILL reach that while gaming, and it will last you a few months before it gives out. Do not software overclock. Make sure you have plenty of ventilation, a good CPU cooler, and a good motherboard. Again- software overclocking is BAD. 90c is terrible.

Most games will not run your CPU at full load all the time, but after a 3 hour gaming session of it running at 60% jumping up to 80 and sometimes maybe 100, it will heat up. It will hit 90c. Look at any credible sources, 90c is bad, most motherboards will throttle you at 72c and shut it off at 80, and that is for a good reason.

Ok well I reset everything back to normal settings then. I group tuned the cores back to 3.8Ghz, and lowered the voltage all the way down to 1.000, ran Primetest and it only runs at 65C max.

Guess I'll just keep it this way till I get a better cooler. What ones would you recommend?
