I recently got a set of Tritton 720+ this week. I have them set up to my PC at the moment. The problem is that the light on the decoder/mix amp that represents whether Dolby Digital is being received or not, is not turning on. All of the othe lights on the box are lit up except for this one. Does this mean that I am not getting the full 7.1 surround sound? Do you know what I need to get that light to turn on? it is not a faulty light because I have tested a separate decoder box in the same configuration.

I hope someone knows the answer to my problem, please help me out.

Hi, I have a Tritton 720+ aswell and had the same issue. I recently fixed it by going to my music devices, selecting the properties on the optical output and changing the channel in the advanced tab to Dolby Digital Live (5.1 Surround). Although the headset says to be 7.1 virtual surround I am only experiencing 5.1.

After playing around with my 720+ I think I finally found out why the Dolby Digital light doesn't turn on. It basically only lights up when it receives the properly encoded sound, which is sound encoded with the AC-3 filter or the 5.1 channel.

No, the device is fine. The Digital EX can only work when it's given a Dolby 5.1 channel signal (AC3) and creates a 6.1 channel. Most of the signals you receive are stereo and can only be used by the Pro Logic iix to form a 7.1 virtual surround channel. You can however make it light up manually by turning on Dolby Digital Live in the sample frequencies. This will convert every incoming audio stream in a 5.1 channel.
