Hi

I have a very simple question. I'm planing to improve my pc but I'm doing it by parts, and the top thing that I have on my list is new ram. I have a Intel DH55PJ motherboard, and the compatibility for ram speed says 1333mhz. I don't want to buy ram from this speed, because I'll eventually change to a newer motherboard in the near future, and it will be kind of a waste. The AMD Performance Series 8gb pack looks very interesting for me, but they are 1866mhz. So, would my not so old motherboard handle them? I understand that in some cases, you could downclock the ram to match the maximum speed of the motherboard but I'm not sure if this is the case. Thanks!

The link to the motherboard details:

I don't know if is useful, but i have this cpu:
i3 550

Save your money and get the Motherboard, CPU, and RAM all at the same time. This way you can avoid issues like this, make sure everything is compatible, and also functional. What are you going to do if you purchase your new motherboard and then three months later, get the new CPU only to find out then, that your motherboard is faulty? You're beyond the simple Return Policy time frame and now have to deal with a warranty situation where the manufacturer will attempt to fix the board before eventually replacing it (five weeks later).

That's true, but that's not a option for me. I don't have the budget to buy all at the same time, that's why I'm doing it by parts. I'm already buying a new hdd, a ssd, a psu and a case. In the near future (probably 2015) I'm going to buy the motherboard and the cpu.

I can only spend 800$ per year because that's what i have available (I'm from Venezuela, so I have restricted access to some currencies, included dollars. I can't buy all at the same time. Probably you're going to tell me with that budget you can afford a nice descent and cpu, but i have plans to buy a asus sabertooth Z87 and a i5 4670k.

I'm sorry, i don't want to be stubborn, but please i just need to know if it would work.
