Hello...

Im facing an Issue with my newly assembled gaming rig but can't figure out the problem as im having very low FPS in league of legends for some reason.

Specs as follows:
AMD FX 8350
MSI r9 280x Gaming TWIN FROZR
8gb Corsair ram 1600
Gigabyte 650 watt PSU
1440p X Star monitor

Would be very appreciated to get an answer as I've tried everything I know.

P.S: I'm getting 50-62 FPS in LoL

What insvetigation did you do? Gpu-z? Benchmark should be correct for that kind of stuff, normally when your PC is in power saving state it will start using your Pcie 2.0 card as a 1.1, and when it starts heating up in benchmark it should detect it normally, if your card by magic is actually running in 1.1 interface, and that would be probably impossible, try switching slots on motherboard, updating bios and drivers. Hope THIS helps xD

EDIT: even if this is your problem LoL has nothing...

That isn't low FPS! It is because of your FX 8350 CPU, it isn't suited for games that are MMO type (atleast i think that is what LoL is, haven't played it in a while) Games like LoL require very good PER-CORE performance, meaning that the quality of a each core itself must be good, but it just isn't the case with 8350, yes, it has 8 cores, but they are very weak and LoL will almost NEVER utilize them. This is normal, as I said. A solution would be to overclock your CPU further. Hope this was helpful, and i don't know why are you even being sad about it xD, i get 15 FPS in LoL! Imagine that, and what is even worse your eye, if isn't specially trained won't see more than 60-80 fps, so even without the performance that SHOULD BE there but it isn't because of a weak processor core, it is really good performance, all i gotta say is: don't worry and enjoy your game!

It is good enough but still not as good as it should be .... my 5 years older gaming rig performed better with 1st gen i7 and gtx 570 I used to get 80 fps (even using the same monitor with 1440p).
and for the processer, I don't think 8350fx cant handle such a game. some ppl are reporting of getting 240 fps with the same gpu but with an intel cpu and as far as my researches went, fx8350 is almost identical to i5 4750 so it shouldn't be this low.
FYI, even I reduce the graphics options I still get the same fps.

Reducing your graphics and getting the same fps means BOTTLENECK, you just have solution for yourself, The fx 8350 has the same performance like a modern i5 IN GAMES, Because most games need that graphics power, and fx 8350 is just around good enough to not bottleneck a GPU, but in a compute benchmarks and CPU HEAVY TASK or even GAMES, the fx 8350 will scroll behind anything else and heavily bottleneck, because of its weak core, I am sorry, too, that this is happening, but only choice should be overclocking, and/or if you are mostly playing LoL, switch to I5 4670 or I3 4130 CPU, hope this again helped!

after several investigations I found out that my GPU is running on pcie16 v1.1, any idea how to upgrade it to 2.0??
Keeping in mind my MoBo is Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 which support dual pci 2.0 x16
