video card shuts off while gaming

my graphics card shuts off while gaming. it is a 7990 hd 3 months old no oc was working fine untill this week. it never reaches + 70c temprature. already replaced the psu still got same problem. i have the latest drivers. could the motherboard be the problem?

i7 3770 3.4
16gb ram
z77-d3h
7990 hd
psu 1000 watt gold

I would suspect the GPU first. Can you try installing it in another computer? If it does the same you know it's that and not the motherboard.
How long are you gaming when it shuts down? Can you monitor the temps while gaming so you can see what the temp is when it shuts down? I'm just thinking it may have developed heat dispersion issues somehow over the last few months.
