Problems with internet on one computer

Hello, I am getting really frustrated with one of my computers' network problems. I came home from school last week and I had no problems whatsoever (could play games etc.) but then the next day I had the limited access icon appear in windows. I've reinstalled windows 7 from scratch, bought new wifi adapters (PCI-e and USB) but I always have problems.

On one of the adapters it connects but always has limited access (no internet). The other USB adapter works when the router broadcasts on channel 11 internet works fine but games are unplayable (1k+ ping, disconnecting, etc.). It shows 2 bars signal on windows and 5 bars on the DLINK utility program. The PCI-e adapter can't even connect because the signal is so bad. I've tried everything I can think of like restarting the router, changing settings on the router, etc. The computer is in the same room as the laptop I am now and I am receiving full signal. It's really annoying because the internet was working fine a week ago and it works perfectly for all other computers.

If the ping is good on a speedtest, then I would lean more towards something on your side or with the server. I find WiFi is just so bad for games because there's no way you can ever guarantee it's going to be consistent. If you can't get connected with an ethernet cable, I would definitely look into a powerline device in this case, they work a lot better than WiFi in most cases, and they can be pretty reliable, not a perfect hardwired connection, but it's better than nothing.

First off, can you post the Brand and model # of your router?

Be aware that USB adapters will usually have their own software that likes to over-power Windows utility, so that might be causing some of the issues.

With the specific error message, and the fact that it works on channel 11, leads me to believe it's some sort of wireless interference.

The ping issue, could just be the game servers, if possible, try and run a speed test and see what your ping is (speedtest.net)

I would also try connecting with an ethernet cable either directly to the modem, or the router.

For the interference issue, try a program called inSSIDer, it helps detect interference, specifically caused by neighbour's WiFi networks.

Speedtest.net ping is fine, usually around 40ms ping, 3 down / 6 up. It's bad with all games though not just one in particular. Going to have someone come in tomorrow to hopefully bring the router closer, and maybe so I can run an ethernet cable even.

I have inSSIDer, only other network is on channel 6, and everything looks fine. Router is a Sagemcom F@ST 2864 and my ISP is Bell.
