Hey everyone,

I have been looking around at all of this great advice prior to my first build and I think I have some great parts for it, but now I have a question. I did go to a couple of "power estimation sites" and got a couple of different answers, so I thought I would ask the experts here. How much power do I need?

Here are all of my components:
mobo: Asus Maximux VI Formula
CPU: i5-4670k
ssd: Crucial M500 240 GB
HDD: WD BLACK SERIES WD1003FZEX 1TB 7200 RPM
CPU Cooler: Swiftech H220
Memory: G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866
GPU: EVGA ACX Cooler GeForce GTX 780 03G-P4-2784-KR Video Card
DVD/CD combo drive: 2 of them

I ordered the Cooler Master V700 - 700W Power Supply with Fully Modular Cables and 80 PLUS Gold Certification, but now am not sure it's big enough?

Can I stay with this or do I have to get 850 Watts?

You'll be fine. More details to follow in an update, but have to take care of something right now.

O.k., back to update.
Per Nvidia the minimum system power for a single GTX 780 is 600Watts, with a minimum of 42 amps on the +12v rail.
It's not wattage that is most important, but the current (amperage/amps) that can be delivered at an operating temperature of 50C.
The CM V700 is rated at 58amps on the 12v @ 50C, so will have ample power overhead to run everything in your system.
Here's a Jonnyguru.com article and review on the 850, and he has one on the 1000 also, and it rated as 9.7/10. No reason to think the 700 isn't just as good. They are made by Seasonic, one of the best.

Put 'er together, and let it rip! It should be a kick-ass build!

That Cooler Master V700 - 700W is more than enough for your build. You can go with 850W if you want to SLI in the future.A good brand 600W-650w is ok for your build.

AWESOME! Thank you so much for the advice. I'll take a look at the article so when I decide to SLI my 780 I'll have ample power for that as well. The build starts tomorrow morning. I think it's gonna be pretty sweet! Now to start reading about overclocking.... and over to the overclocking threads....

Thanks again!
