Will this cooling solution work?

Hi, I am wondering if it is possible to use a corsair liquid cooling solution with the mother board I have now. I currently have the "ASUS M5 A97 R2.0" and I am planning on getting a "Corsair H100i" The only problem is, my mother board doesn't have mounting holes!

Usually you replace the cpu backplate and hook up the radiator inside the case at the top or side, but in this case should be the top(the radiator takes up two case fan space). And just screw the cooler on to cpu.

So the cooler will work with this motherboard? Cause there are no holes in the board to mount it. The radiator is no problem, my case is built to support this exact cooling unit.

What do you mean everything stays inside? The problem I am having, is that I'm afraid I won't be able to get the cooler onto the CPU cause there are no holes to put a backplate on...

Oh sorry i misunderstood and took awhile to get what you were saying, i assume there is no hole in the back of the case to let you manipulate the assembly without taking everything apart . I guess you might have to take out the whole assembly Then replace backplate with the h100i gives you. Then reassemble everything again.

I think you misunderstood again. There is no problem with the case, but with the motherboard itself. You know the "X" on most motherboards, around the CPU. With each hole, on each corner of the X to mount the liquid cooling on to the processor. My motherboard doesn't have that, that's the problem.

Is yours an intel processor by the way? Intel motherboards have the "X" plate, AMD has a rectangle. Then you are probably force to upgrade your motherboard.

I should have ask you first, What are your pc specs?

No... Just look at the motherboard, look at the 4 screws around where the cpu goes... all you needed to tell me from the beginning is, will the 100i fit there. Just look up a picture of the motherboard and tell me.
