Installed the Thermaltake TR2 600-Watt ATX, and the GEFORCE GTX 760 (500w required) into my HP Pavilion HPE h8-1120 Desktop. (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03019166&tmp_track_link=ot_faqs/top_issues/en_us/c03019166/loc:3&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=5156846&task=#N771).
I restarted the comp, everything plugged in (card uses a 6 pin), power going to everything, but the screen only got to the blue HP welcome screen and nothing else. I was hoping to see the new hardware message, but Windows won't even start up. Removed new GPU, and put the old one back in...everything started like normal.
Installed the new drivers with old card in place...the went ok...put back new GPU, but still nothing.

Is it possible the power supply is not strong enough for the GPU or could I have a 'dead' PSU?

any help would be great...Thanks!

psu might not be strong enough, but even in that instance you should still be able to make it to windows. as booting doesnt stress the card, therefor doesnt use much wattage.

how many amps can that psu handle?

i was leaning towards a driver conflict, and was going to suggest a fresh install with new drivers but if its not even making it to the windows load screen, i doubt very much it is that.

psu does seem like the most likely culprit. though, it could be the gpu. can you test your gpu in someone elses rig?

No luck on the extra computer. Older ones doesn't support PCI e.
What's got me is that I've done this before with the older (4 yes now) one and I don't believe it should be this difficult.
