Title pretty much says it all I have a msi z87 gd65. I built it today and it all works minus the graphics card 770. I the 4670 from intel It has graphics so I got it up and installed Windows 7. I then did the power off unplug and ground to install the graphics card it clicked into place and I wired it up then power on but no video and the fans sound like their running at max on the video card. So i restart and go to bios and use board explore to see what is connected to the board and everything shows as it should except for the nvidia card. It says empty slot for the pci 3.0 x16 slot I tried another slot and same exact thing. I'm lost as what to do. I thought this would be simple to builf but right now it's not even recognizing a ssingle 770 yet it can handle sli???? Any suggestions would be great.

Make sure the graphics card's PCIe power cables are properly seated. Graphics cards used to have little shriekers on them that screamed if they weren't getting power, however I haven't seen that in a while, but I have at least one card (a GTX650Ti) that runs its fan at max if I forget to plug it in.

It's connected to the hdmi on the 770 and the power cables and pci slot are are attached correctly. The latches clicked in when I inserted them.

What PSU do you have (brand and model please, not just wattage) ? If it is modular, are the PCIe power cables also latched on the PSU side?

I have a evga supernova 1000watt 80+ gold rating it got both 8 pins latched on both end he gpu and psu. I think the problem is not power as it's got the 3 fans on the card spinning on max non stop. I beleive that the only problem is getting the mb to recognize the graphics card as in the board explore feature in bios it shows all the things I have plugged in USB hdmi etc but the PCI slot is showing as empty even though I have a gpu in it. I can test the slot maybe. Would a old old pc like core 2 duo era dell bought desktop card work with it? If so I got one lying in the closet. Or would it be fairly cheap to have a pc place look at it under $50 to download some patch I may not know about? I'm just getting frustrated buying nearly 2000 in parts and building it then having no way to game right away :(
