Hello,
So I got a new intel i7 3930k LGA 2011 and an MSI X79A-GD45 Plus motherboard and I need a fan and heatsink to keep it cool. The problem is that I don't know where to start.
I might overclock it, and I know that would require a more expensive fan. So I'm asking for some suggestions.
I might try water cooling, but I don't know anything about that so any type of suggestion would help.
What do you have that works, or what would you suggest?
I appologize if this isn't the right place to post this, or if it isn't the right format

The best cooler for the money is the Cooler Master Hyper 212. A solid performer for a very small price. Diminishing returns applies as usual, and if you want a good air cooler which will work better than the 212 but also cost a lot more, look at a Noctua cooler. It will perform better and also quieter.

For water coolers, well, there's tons of options. I personally have a Corsair H110, which works really well but you might not be able to fit that. I've had good luck with Corsair so that's what I would suggest. There's tons of info out there on water coolers though, just google it.

One of the best CPU coolers I can think of is probably the Noctua NF-F12 at around £40.00 however people have found a favourite with the Cooler Master Hyper 212 which is about £30.00. All depends on preference and budget?

First what case co you Have? Second you should water cool your Gpu only if absolutely necessary.Such as serious gpu overclocking. For cpu air cooling I swear by the Swiftec Polaris 120. It as good if not better than any air cooler that has ever
better tested by Hardware Secrets.Com. and when teamed with a Scythe Glide Stream 120mm High speed PWM Fan it is even better. I have used it in OCing @ 4.6 GHZ. It will go in my opinion to 4.9 Ghz.Higher than that that you need a good Liquid Cooler wth a 240mm reservoir. Along with two 120 mm fans. The best air coolers are just as good as the best 120mm liquid coolers. If your case is 7 inches wide and has an atx bord and your first memory slot is not a tall one
