Okay, let me explain the title.... I purchased two game bundles on Newegg.

Borderlands/Borderlands 2 for $11.98
BioShock/BioShock2/BioShock Infinite for $14.99

I did not read enough and then found you "need" a steam account to download and install, I figured these were like the download games you get bundled in Nvidia Cards, NOPE.

I figure I could just download them and I could install them later, but Newegg basically stated that I had 30 days to retrieve my downloads and activate on Steam.

I have an i5 PC, but I don't want to load and install Steam on that PC, as I just loaded Server 2012 on it, to run VMs (Studying 2012, within the coming year) . It was orginally a gaming PC, but I want to take a break and study Server 2012)

So I looked at my old components (that I have planning to sell), since I now have a i5 PC.

So I rebuilt a older PC to download and install and play these game at my liesure.

Build is:

XFX 750i
Q9650
8GB of Corsair XMS
OCZ 120GB SSD
XFX 295 GTX
XFX 8800 GT (AlphaDog for PhysX)
1000 Watt Ultra PSU

(Yes, I was a big XFX fan, until they parted ways with nVidia)

Is this system good enough to run these games, I will simply just have to move the monitor/keyboard/mouse/power cables when I want to game on this system.

just go to steams website create an account and add the games to your account before the thirty days. then take your secondary pc and go to system requirement labs site and check whether or not it can handle all those games.

I ran the system requirement labs, came out to run the minumum, but meeting the requirements, meeting the Recommended, it asked for a 560 GTX, do you know if this card would be bottle necked by the Q9650? I prefer not to OC, since this will be a Temp Build, probably until the end of Summer (or End of Year) when I get certified on Server 2012.

Also, I started the download of the games, BIG mistake, I am still downloading BS 2, and my steam folder is 53GB. Not sure if I will have enough space on the 120GB SSD. I might have to install a bigger hard drive and do it all over. I might uninstall some of the games. I play the orginal BioShock and Borderlands, bought both, but gave them away a long time ago.

Downloads took "forever"

I picked up a MSI 560 GTX ti on ebay for $103. I will see if it will make a big different. So far, games run fine. Good thing I am on Xmas vacation to mess around with this. I play for a few mins on each, the 560GTX will make a difference on the DX11 games, BL2/BSI.

I had have some issues with the games after I finally installed them.

1. Bioshock has no sound. I read to enable it in compatibility with XP, it will not run. I enbabled it with Vista and it will run, but no sound.

2. Bioshock 2 will crash after about 15 mins.

3. Borderlands 2 was the worse, fixed, I will run for 10 mins, then the screen would go black and come back, after about 2 more time of this, it would just crash. I finally fixed it, installed a much older NVidia driver, July 2013, and issue was fixed.

I have not looked into any more solutions, after I got Borderlands 2 running. (Awesome Game) Got me gaming at least for 2.5 hours.

Also, I installed MSI burner to review GPU/CPU usage, this what I found in Borderlands 2.

295 GTX only. FPS= 61 to 62
GPU 1 60 to 69
GPU 2 60 to 74
CPU 40 to 61
PhysX not noticeable.

295GTX with 8800GT FPS= 39 to 43
GPU 1 53 to 76
GPU 2 56 to 78
GPU 3 12 to 22 (PhysX) very noticeable
CPU 38 to 61

Am I looking at a serious bottleneck?

I should get the MSI 560 GTX Ti next week, if have time, I will post any results.

So my 295GTX went south, I am getting artifacts. I have contacted XFX to see if they will take a look at it. I know that XFX is no longer with nVidia, but maybe they can replace it. I kept the 560GTX for a while and gave it to a friend, might have to contact him. I am running a eVGA 9800GX2 at the moment but noticing some lag and slower FPS in MSI Burner, I am looking to get a possible replacement that will play well with my Q9650, any suggestions/?
