how many chips does an i5 processor need ??

I have an Intel i5 powered laptop with only one chip of 4GB RAM .... Should adding a new make better performance with hardware ??

Adding more RAM will only mean that you can do more tasks at once. If you are multi-tasking a lot or opening up A LOT of tabs in your browser, then yes it would help.
